Debbie Noonan started her HR career in the health industry in nursing administration and recruiting. In 1984, she began working for Kaiser Engineers as the Personnel Administrator under a union contract that worked with four different unions on an Air Force missile silo project in the desert outside of Yuma, Arizona. With her husband Marty being released from his tour in the Marine Corp and being accepted on the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the family moved to his home state of Wyoming, stationed in Wright.
Debbie went to work for Kerr-McGee Coal at the Jacobs Ranch Mine in 1987, starting in training and development before being promoted to Personnel Supervisor. Debbie studied for her PHR exam in 1993, when a group of 10 local HR leaders decided to pursue their certification. At that time there were only 13 people in the state of Wyoming that had their PHR or SHRM certification. We studied as a group in the library conference room with one book and some flash cards we made. Senator Mike Enzi was one of this group and we all passed.
In 2000, I went to work for Triton Coal Company (now owned by Kiewit), at the Buckskin Mine responsible for all Human Resources functions.
I have been married to Marty for 35 years and we have two sons and 4 grandchildren. We live in Sundance. My love for HR has always been fed by the enjoyment of the interaction with employees.
